For the record I agree with you.
I go to elite areas and get elite gear. I charge the going rates for things.
That said, I would love to see the prices come down dramatically on a lot of things. Almost all in fact. The more equipment that is out there just means that I have more customers. So I get less per item, who cares! I did it for the fun of it anyway.
Let HOS alone. It hurts no one and people are actually enjoying GWEN for a change.
Probably the best advertisement for GWEN yet, as there is not much else to do there.

ive seen runic blades, elemental swords, legendary swords, and sephis swords drop from the end chest. unfortunately, in the 20 or so runs ive done, my nicest drop has been an onyx gem
im not complaining though, group activities with random strangers like chest running is always fun.

QFT! I have the onyx and diamonds to get 2 destroyer weps in about 2 weeks of farming this pretty hardcore. Please leave this alone and maybe I will not be leaving GW the day Starcraft 2 comes out.

I don't know, I have been doing it with our alliance. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. We are having fun watching people die and racing to the end. It is all good fun.
Like I said before. This is the first fun I have had in GWEN since release. I hope they take a while to hit it with the nerf bat.
Please remember...
I must not GRIND. GRIND is the mind-killer. GRIND is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my GRIND... I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

Hmmm - never been there or done it myself, but I am laughing over one curious thing.
The quote - too funny .
The grinding quote (Litany against Fear) was one that was being used to defend the Duncan bug. Seems to me that despite the quote, you have no problem at all grinding endlessly over and over on things that give a high proportion of reward per the little effort put in.
Is it perhaps that grinding (read endless repeats) is OK with you as long as someone gives you plenty of nice shiny toys very quickly? Your quote at the end has always sounded rather cool to me, but the threads I have noticed it being used the most don't relate to anti-grinding - they relate to defending personal gain and the fastest means of wealth creation gimmme gimme gimme style.
Just an amused observation that the use of this quote is being diminished in my eyes.
Having played the mission on the weekend for the first time I could understand how this dungeon could be run and exploited. To me this smacks of exploit rather than bug like the Duncan one. There is therefore a more substantial argument to keep it left alone. Having said that, I will not be surprised if the developers toughen it up. Seems to make sense to do so in the true spirit of dungeon crawling.

Back a few months ago, you could "solo" the hopping vampires in HM and good zodiacs. They nerfed it calling it an exploit.
There actually was a thread on it like this one. *cough*

How did they adjust the gates? It may still be possible, just harder now.

If you read the conversation carefully, you will see that I was enjoying the time with my alliance members. It was funny to watch it all.
As for making money, the drops have been minimal for me, but the laughs have been priceless. As for making money in the game, my ele/a can make a whole lot more in doa, tombs, underworld, ect.
So, if you are looking at time to reward, then your argument would not hold water because I can make a whole lot more per hour doing other things. I do it because it is fun and I enjoy the alliance interaction and the fun to run there.
As for toughing it up, there will always be a way to get around it with talented players. The rest suffer and I end up soloing again because they make it harder for the average player to do things like this.
Please remember, I am the one stating that I don't mind prices coming down. There is plenty of places for a player to make money outside of GWEN that earns a lot per hour.
Now, as for the dungeons, they are not that hard. Boring to do, yes. The same one is used again and again, so it is true grind. GWEN with so little content and so little to do other then GRIND keeps me away from it. So this was the first time I was in it because of the interaction, since my ranger finished.
Now, if you want to learn some skills, learn to go to the elite DOA areas, and want a challenge doing it solo, let me know. I will be more then happy to show you how to make money that way.
Please remember...
I must not GRIND. GRIND is the mind-killer. GRIND is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my GRIND... I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

You're not a real farmer. I'm guessing you did maybe 5-10 runs and the drops sucked for you? I've done somewhere around 50 runs or so. Lets see now....I've gotten
A handful of Onyx and Diamonds (these do add up ya know?)
Tons of greens to satisfy my heroes
R9 Pyroclastic Axe (sold for 100k + 75e)
R10 Runic Blade
R10 Legendary Sword
Gold Naga Shaman Polymock
A couple of platinum staffs
and a heap of other things that I can't remember....
Needless to say GW:EN hasn't been out long but "real" farmers have already cashed in on this.
With the PUGS I've been with I've seen numerous Ele Swords drop, countless Legendary, Singing Blades, Platinum weapons and Runic Blades. GosH so much good stuff drops from the chest I can't remember them all. Is it all luck? YES most definately. But guess what? The more you do it the better your chances are of getting something. Even if you go 50 runs and get total crap....I'm willing to bet you anything even the crap you get from the chest will add up to $$$. Guaranteed!!!!!! Until the nerf. =p

ANet, go ahead and call this run an "exploit". Everyone knows it was poor implementation of the dungeon itself that made this happen, NOT an exploit. You could've easily phrased the update notes to read, "Made changes to...." and left the "...exploit" part out.
Don't try and make people feel guilty for doing this.

Now I have almost entirely missed HoS CRs...
Nice work ArenaNet, a chance to avoid grind and you ruined it.
